In a large office block, an administration building or their refurbishment as well as in the construction or renovation of schools, kindergartens, childcare/retirement facilities or public administration buildings the intelligent skins will work their whole strength for the public hand.

Especially when refurbishing and renovating static problems can usually be disregarded due to the very light weight of the time.  The immense speed of manufacturing in prefabricating timber frames and the very quick construction on site allow a very speedy timing and efficiency planning. To be refurbished buildings could even continue to be used during any redevelopment. Construction time for new structures can be reduced to the duration to complete their internal needs (such as sanitary facilities, electrical installations, floor covering and all other insertions…).

Economically, those benefits during completion are well quantifiable, similar as later the complete reduction of heating and cooling costs during the operation of the building. Thus the intelligent skin literally “pays for itself” in the institutional sector (and public hand). Hardly quantifiable (and for us Weissenseer of equal importance…) is in fact the proverbial "excitement" of the future users.
